Temperature sensors are sensors that sense temperature and convert it into a usable output signal. Temperature sensors can be divided into thermocouple temperature sensors, RTD temperature sensors according to the characteristics of the sensor material and electronic components.
Thermocouple type temperature sensor: the electric coupling is a temperature sensing element, is a kind of instrument. It directly measures the temperature and converts the temperature signal into a thermoelectric potential signal, which is converted into the temperature of the measured medium through an electrical instrument (secondary instrument).
RTD Temperature Sensor: Thermistor is made of semiconductor material, mostly with negative temperature coefficient, i.e. the resistance value decreases with increasing temperature. Temperature changes will cause large resistance changes, so it is the most sensitive temperature sensor. However, the linearity of thermistors is very poor and is highly dependent on the production process.
Temperature sensors can also be classified according to the output signal, which can be roughly divided into: digital temperature sensors, logic output temperature sensors, analog temperature sensors. Different types have different characteristics, such as digital temperature sensors are digital temperature sensors produced using the silicon process, which uses the PTAT structure, this semiconductor structure has a precise, temperature-related good output characteristics.
There are several points to note when selecting and using temperature sensors:
First, the temperature sensor chosen, must be compatible with the medium being measured.
Second, if the temperature sensor is used outdoors and in other harsh environments, it is recommended that a power distribution box be selected to provide protective measures for the temperature sensor.
Third, if the temperature sensor is measuring the temperature of the pipeline, the pipeline pressure is too much pressure on it, the temperature sensor should be protected against pressure.
