In instrumentation, there are two types of temperature and humidity related transmitters, which are temperature and humidity transmitters and dew point transmitters. What’s the difference between them, and in what context are they used? Let’s go through them one by one.
A temperature and humidity transmitter is an instrument equipped with moisture and heat sensitive elements that can be used to measure temperature and humidity. The temperature and humidity transmitter mostly uses the temperature and humidity integrated probe as the temperature measurement element, collects the temperature and humidity signal, and converts it into a current signal or voltage signal output with a linear relationship with temperature and humidity after being processed by voltage stabilization filtering, operation amplification, nonlinear correction, V/I conversion, constant current and reverse protection circuits, and can also be directly output through the main control chip for RS485 and other interfaces.
Temperature and humidity transmitters are widely used in indoor environments such as offices, laboratories, building automation, ventilation ducts, heating and air conditioning systems, constant temperature and humidity controllers, control boxes and other equipment for temperature and humidity detection.
The dew point transmitter refers to the temperature at which the air is cooled to saturation under the condition that the water vapor content and air pressure do not change, or it may be said that figuratively speaking, the temperature when the water vapor in the air becomes dew is called the dew point temperature. The dew point temperature is a temperature value, but why is it used to represent humidity? This is because, when the air is saturated with water vapor, the air temperature is the same as the dew point; When the water vapor is not saturated, the air temperature must be higher than the dew point temperature. So the difference between the dew point and the air temperature can indicate the degree to which the water vapor in the air is saturated. At 100% relative humidity, the temperature of the surrounding environment is the dew point temperature. The smaller the dew point is than the temperature of the surrounding environment, the less likely it is to condense and the drier the air, and the dew point is not affected by temperature, but by pressure.
The application occasions of dew point transmitters are generally in container ships, compressed air, natural gas and other industries.
In fact, temperature and humidity transmitters are very different from dew point transmitters, and users should do their homework according to their actual working conditions, so as to choose instruments that meet the requirements for on-site use.
