When instrumentation is used in the field, the main vibrations come from both internal and external factors. Internal vibrations are manifested as pulsations of the medium to be measured, e.g. a fluid pressed out of a single-cylinder compressor can make the elastomeric elements of the instrument vulnerable to damage and affect the accuracy of the measurement.
External vibrations are usually caused by the operation of power machinery such as material transportation, crushing, grinding, etc., and can also be caused by intense chemical reactions. Vibration has a great impact on the normal use of the instrument, which directly affects the measurement accuracy of the instrument, and in serious cases, may lead to damage to the instrument.
In order to reduce and prevent damage to the instrument by vibration, the following methods can usually be used:
1. Add buffers or flow controllers
The buffer can be an empty container, which is installed between the pressure point and the detection instrument, and the pulsating pressure is stabilized after passing through the buffer, so as to reduce the influence caused by the pulsation of the measured medium. Flow restrictors can often be used with flow-limiting orifice plates, through which the resistance created can reduce the pulsation of the pressure of the vapor or liquid phase medium.
2. Install rubber cushions to absorb vibrations
Add a rubber to the supporting surface of the instrument or the instrument is connected by a spring and then fixed on the bracket, or the whole instrument can be fixed with an anti-vibration rubber washer. These methods are effective in absorbing external vibrations.
3. Add a damping device
The damping device and damping valve are used to form the resistance and capacitance link, which can effectively reduce the pulsation of the medium.
4. Choose vibration-resistant instruments
In addition to the above vibration reduction methods, the vibration problem can also be fundamentally solved in the design and selection. For example, the use of pressure transmitters with good seismic performance; In the case of pulsed flow, a flow meter that is not sensitive to the flow state is selected.
