The ultrasonic level transmitter adopts the working principle of echo ranging, which transmits a pulse signal when it encounters an obstacle and reflects the reflected signal by a receiving device. The change in liquid level is determined by measuring the time difference in the movement of the pulse line number. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this level transmitter? This helps us to choose a level transmitter that is more suitable for our application.
Advantages of ultrasonic level transmitters:
This type of level transmitter is a non-contact measurement, which is less affected by the viscosity and density of the measured medium. Secondly, it also has the characteristics of easy installation, easy cleaning and simple reading.
Disadvantages of ultrasonic level transmitters:
1. When using this type of level transmitter for measurement, there should be no obstacles below, because it is a sound wave reflection principle, and obstacles will affect the emission of sound waves, resulting in signal loss.
2. The humidity of the measured medium will affect the speed of the sound wave. In dry or saturated humidity, the speed of sound varies by about 2%. Water mist, medium that is easy to produce a large number of foam, and volatile media are very easy to affect the sound wave emission and reduce the measurement accuracy.
3. This type of level transmitter cannot be used in a vacuum environment. Because sound waves cannot propagate in a vacuum.
4. The ultrasonic level transmitter should not measure the pressure container, the pressure will not only affect the probe of this type of transmitter, but also have a relationship with the temperature T=KP (K is constant), resulting in the deviation of the final measurement result.
