The intrinsically safe type, known as intrinsically safe type, is an explosion-proof type of electrical equipment that limits the electrical spark or thermal effect energy that may be generated by the connecting wires inside the equipment and exposed to a potentially explosive atmosphere to a level that cannot produce ignition. Compared with other explosion-proof transmitters, the intrinsically safe explosion-proof transmitter has the characteristics of simple structure, wide range of application, easy operation and convenient maintenance.
Unlike other methods, intrinsically safe ignition protection involves not only individual devices, but the entire intrinsically safe circuit. If an explosive atmosphere is not ignited in a circuit due to sparks or thermal effects, the circuit is said to be intrinsically safe. In intrinsically safe equipment, appropriate measures must be taken to ensure that the energy is limited to a small extent and does not ignite explosive atmospheres (including in the event of failure). All circuits in intrinsically safe devices are designed to be intrinsically safe. Depending on their explosion-proof rating, these devices are allowed to be used directly in the respective hazardous areas. Auxiliary electrical equipment contains both intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe circuits. Usually they are used in safe places, but the connecting wires all enter dangerous places. Therefore, the auxiliary electrical equipment must also comply with the above explosion-proof rating, that is, an auxiliary electrical equipment connected to the sensor or actuator in area 0 must be explosion-proof class 1 equipment.

During the use of the intrinsically safe explosion-proof transmitter, the shell must be effectively grounded. The housing of intrinsically safe explosion-proof transmitters must be tightened. To ensure safe use, it is not allowed to open the transmitter cover when power is applied. Also ensure that the lead outlet of the transmitter cable is well sealed.
