Pressure sensors are widely used sensors that can be used to detect the pressure of gases and liquids. One of the technical parameters of the pressure sensor is the “load characteristics”. So, what are load characteristics? What does it mean? Let’s take a look at it together.
When the pressure sensor is installed on the measured object or enters the measured medium, it will absorb energy from the object and the medium or produce interference, so that the measured physical quantity deviates from the true value, so that it is impossible to achieve the ideal measurement, this phenomenon is called the load characteristics of the test device, or the load effect. The load characteristics of pressure sensors are inherent in them, and at the beginning of the design and construction of pressure sensors, it is necessary to consider minimizing their influence to improve test accuracy. The load characteristics of the pressure transmitter occur not only between the sensor and the measured object, but also between the front and rear stages of the measuring device.
The load characteristics of pressure sensors can be specifically divided into current load and voltage load.
Pressure sensor current load is typically 4~20mA analogue. The voltage load of the pressure sensor is typically 0~10V analog. In both cases, the less influence of the load characteristics, the better. The current type load of the pressure sensor ≤ {(Us-7.5)÷0.02 }Ω (where Us = supply voltage, see figure below). The voltage type load of the pressure transmitter ≥ 100kΩ
